Breastfeeding Awareness Week

Breastfeeding Awareness Week

In recognition of Breastfeeding Week, ReVitahealth would like to share ten benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and her baby.  Breast milk is arguably the best food and source of nutrition for a baby between the ages of 0 – 6 months.
Some benefits include:
  1. Breast milk contains antibodies that help your baby fight potential viruses and bacteria.
  2. Provides the best food for your baby to grow and help with their brain development.
  3. Breast milk is safe, fresh and always the right temperature.
  4. Research suggests that breastfeeding can protect against breast and ovarian cancer and weak bones later in life.
  5. Breastfeeding creates a bonding relationship between the mother and her baby.
  6. Breastfeeding is cost efficient and will save you money.
  7. Even if you plan to return to work, you can pump your milk and refrigerate or freeze your milk for future use.
  8. Breast milk is custom-made for your baby.
  9. Breast milk is supply-and-demand; the more your baby breastfeeds, the more milk you will produce.
  10. Lastly, it is good for the environment.  No containers, plastics or unnecessary packaging, straight from mother to baby.
