Casual-Contract
Responsibilities
Assist both Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist with patient treatment for patients within the Surgical Program, and with occasional assistance for patients within the Medical program.
Assist with patient lifting, transferring and transporting.
Provide, assign and delegate treatment regimes.
Adhere to all delegated responsibilities.
Prepare patients for treatment.
Assist the Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist in any other related duties.
Maintain timely charting and workload measurement.
Requirements
Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in education, nursing, health care, or social sciences or Graduate from a PTA and OTA Certificate/Diploma program from a recognized institution
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Experience
Relevant work experience in providing services to individuals with acquired brain injury preferred.
Must be able to work well under supervision and maintain the delegation of responsibilities for support personnel as mandated of the Ontario College of Physiotherapists and the Ontario College of Occupational Therapists.
Demonstrate effective communication skills and teamwork.
Organized and able to complete tasks within the allocated time frames.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
A positive attendance record.
Availability for scheduled weekend work may be required.
Hours of work
Available to work rotating shifts (Monday to Friday, Weekends & Statutory Holidays when necessary
